Spotify adds What’s New feed for all the music and podcasts you follow – The Verge

July 27, 2021 by Music

What’s New is a new area in the Spotify application that accumulates with each other new songs and web content from musicians and also podcasts you follow on the platform. The feed, which is rolling out around the world over the coming weeks on iphone and also Android, will certainly come through a brand-new bell symbol on the top right of the application’s home display. A blue dot will reveal when there’s brand-new material in the feed, and musicians and podcasts can be added by tapping the “Follow” switch on their respective pages.

“What’s New makes it simpler than ever before to catch all the current tunes as well as episodes from the makers you follow,” Spotify’s news claims. “Plus, it’s also upgraded in genuine time, so you understand you’ll get to listen to new content just as it’s launched.”

Although the new feature collaborates with music releases, the feed is likely to be most valuable for maintaining to date with podcasts. Despite Spotify’s large push into podcasts, its history as a music-focused service has actually indicated that its applications aren’t especially well fit for listening to episodic material. Committed podcasting apps, on the other hand, are made around sequential feeds, making it easy to see when new episodes are offered. Ideally, What’s New will certainly bring several of these advantages to Spotify.
